P5 is the top model of 2010 adidas rubbers, and was launched at September 2010. “P” means performance. P5 is the rubber for professional players. Its top layer and sponge look like those of many spin-oriented tension rubbers of “extreme” type, i.e. Tenergy 05 type. The pimples of the top layer are arranged densely for maximum capability of spin, and the sponge has visible bubbles. Everything “looks” like that of typical spin-oriented tension rubbers of Tenergy 05 type. But, what is different is the hardness of top layer. The top layer of P5 is much harder than those of Butterfly Tenergy 05, Andro Hexer, Tibhar Genius, and Joola X-plode. Harder top layer provides better performance when compared to typical spin-oriented tension rubbers of Tenergy 05 type. Especially top players will be able to enjoy the full performance of this advanced rubber. But, the players of lower level may think that typical spin-oriented tension rubbers of Tenergy 05 type are much easier to use. For most of professional players who are using typical spin-oriented tension rubbers of Tenergy 05 type but demand harder feeling & more speed, P5 will be one of the best choice.
